Call your representative to protect our rights at the ballot

The Legislature wants to make an honest effort to safeguard Colorado’s constitution, but their proposed solution would unfairly hurt citizens and grassroots organizations that depend on volunteers to pass initiatives. What’s more, it would do absolutely nothing to stop special interest groups from amending the constitution by simply paying their way onto the ballot.

The ballot box has been an important tool for protecting our environment. We voted to create Great Outdoors Colorado, which protected more than a half million acres of open space, and we passed Amendment 37, increasing our use of clean, homegrown power, such as wind and solar power.

Please call your representative today, and urge them to ensure that there is a fair playing field for our voice to be heard at the ballot.

Here's a sample message you can leave:

“Hi, my name is ________, and I’m from _______, Colorado. Please oppose SCR 3. This proposal would hurt citizens and grassroots organizations that depend on volunteers to pass ballot initiatives. It would also do nothing to keep special interest groups from amending the constitution by paying their way onto the ballot.”
