The Bottom Line Americans deserve clean water. But Sen. John McCain has too often taken the side of polluters in opposing stronger protections for our water.
Coloradans have a choice this November. To protect the health of Colorado’s waterways and our environment, Coloradans in the 4th congressional district should elect Betsy Markey to the U.S. Congress.
Time and again, former Rep. Bob Schaffer stood with George Bush and the polluters to weaken protections for America’s waterways.
Sen. John McCain has repeatedly called for building 45 new nuclear reactors by 2030, with the ultimate goal of 100 new plants. The plan would be extremely costly to taxpayers, presents significant risk for the economy and the public, and does little to solve America's energy problems.
By electing Betsy Markey, Coloradans can ensure that they have a champion fighting for their interests - and not those of Big Oil or the auto industry - in the critical transportation - related battles that face the next Congress. Betsy Markey says that her priority in the next Congress will be renewable energy technology and energy efficiency. She recognizes the unique opportunity we have to change the way we power this country while creating jobs, protecting the environment, and reducing our dependence on foreign oil. If elected to Congress, Betsy Markey will work to put America on the path to a new energy future.
Rep. Mark Udall has shown that he is a leader in fighting for a clean energy future for America that can protect our health, reduce global warming pollution, save consumers money and rejuvenate our economy.
