Wind power for Colorado Updates

The legislation being voted on today by the Senate Energy and Natural Resources committee, does little or nothing to spur renewable energy in this country. The proposal risks sensitive coastal ecosystems to pollution and spills from off-shore drilling, while worsening global warming by opening the door to high-carbon fuels such as liquid coal, tar sands and oil shale, according to Environment Colorado.   

Today, Governor Bill Ritter signed into law legislation creating tax incentives to put more low-emission vehicles out on the road.

Today, the Vice President announced a joint partnership between the Departments of Energy, Housing, Labor, and Agriculture to create a $500 million project to train workers for jobs in the clean energy economy. Today, an amendment offered by Senator Mark Udall (D- CO) to authorize funding the Zero Energy Homes Program passed in committee.  The amendment authorizes $40 million to fund the program that is designed to promote technologies and strategies in the design and construction of net-zero energy buildings.
